Logo design is an art form all its own. When done well, it serves as a visual reference and centerpiece for a company’s entire brand identity. To sum up, logo design is HARD. And it should be; it is a symbol of a company or product that must be instantly recognizable by consumers bombarded with visual information 24/7. Logos should be simple, scalable, and reflect the tone and mission of the organization.

Personal Logo

When designing my own logo, I drew on personal symbolism and classic typography. The griffin is the centerpiece of my Irish family coat of arms. I included it as a symbol of my heritage and because, let’s face it, I think it looks cool. I chose a classic typeface for my name and tagline.

Theater Logo - Student Project

The City Theatre logo incorporates a silhouette of the iconic "Spirit of Detroit" statue to honor the theater's home in historic downtown Detroit.  Bold color and clean, simple lines are used to reflect the theater's modern, avant-garde productions.

Restaurant Logo - Student Project

The Southern Fried Wu logo reflects the innovative fusion cuisine concept and incorporates relevant Asian and American soul food/cultural design elements.

School Logo

For Epiphany Preschool I designed a logo that incorporates bright color, traditional symbolism (the apple for learning), and rays of light to reflect the school name and religious foundation. The logo also has a vintage feel to appeal to trendy, dare I say - hipster - parents!
