City Theatre

Student Project

This project involved designing a brand identity and logo for an actual theater, as well as developing pieces for a specific play. I selected the City Theatre in Detroit, MI for this project. The City Theatre is a small, downtown venue.

The logo design incorporates an iconic image - a silhouette of the Spirit of Detroit statue, located in the heart of downtown Detroit. I used a vivid color, classic serif typeface, and recognized symbol to capture a modern theater venue.

Production Materials

The materials designed for this project included a poster, Website, and program for a modern production of Lysistrata by Aristophanes. The design reflects the contemporary, sexy take on an ancient classic.
